Deluxe Featherboard
What is a featherboard you might ask? Is it something I need for my workshop? Well, the short answer is yes. Anyone who has a table saw or router table should seriously consider having at least one. Most workshops have more than one handy at any given time. Featherboards are simple devices that help keep your stock up against the fence you’re running your stock on. They generally act like a third hand by helping you control your stock while you push your stock through
Featherboards also help in preventing accidental kickback since they keep consistent pressure on your stock which helps you gain more control. The Fulton Deluxe Featherboard is unique since it can be mounted two different ways. You can mount it into a standard ¾" x 3/8" miter slot with the aluminum Miter Lock Bar. It can also be mounted into a t-track slot using the included t-bolts. This allows you to use it horizontally or vertically depending on your tabletop or fence setup.
Versatile, Easy to Use and It Helps Prevent Dangerous Kick Backs
The Fulton Deluxe Featherboard comes packed with features to make your routing or table saw cutting process more efficient and productive. Starting with the aluminum miter bar locks have been designed to make locking the featherboard into a miter slot much easier than with older model featherboards. We have also included two t-bolts so the featherboard can be mounted to t-track slots. Large knobs make securing the featherboard much easier than with featherboards with tiny t-knobs. Finally, the Fulton Deluxe Featherboard has rigid feathers to keep your stock up against your fence or firmly down against your tabletop surface so you can work with confidence knowing that you basically have a third hand working with you. The feathers not only keep your stock where it supposed to be, they also help prevent kick back since your stock doesn't have the chance to move or slide out of position.
Make Narrow Cuts on Your Table Saw or Router Table
As woodworkers we tend to use every last inch of material and sometimes projects simply call for narrow cuts or narrow strips to be milled. Featherboards are great tools for ripping narrow stock and milling narrow pieces on your router table. The feathers are specifically designed to help keep your stock from drifting which gives you the ability to feed the narrow stock through the cutters without it moving in or out during the cutting process.
Lock it In...
When it comes to securing the featherboard into a miter track or slot, we made very easy. With the completely re-designed expandable miter bar and large, easy to rotate knob, this featherboard can be secured in seconds! No more fussing with those, small, hard to adjust miter bars you find on most featherboards.
Keep Your Distance
When placing setting up the featherboard, make sure that the featherboard is completely behind the blade or cutter. This ensures that the pressure on the stock is toward the fence or the table top which in turn prevents the stock you are cutting from pinching into the blade or cutter.
